Kyle has spent the last 20 years studying, designing and building electronics. He has a bachelor’s degree in applied science – electronic engineering from the University of British Columbia – Okanagan.
In 2016, he and his wife bought their first house and started renovating it. Home renovations were a great contrast to their office jobs and quickly became their favourite hobby.
While shopping for fireplaces, Kyle thought the ember beds with lighting in them looked cool but could be so much better, and Smouldering LEDs was born. Kyle made a few prototype tables in his spare time while working as an electronics designer for a local startup.
In 2025, Kyle fine tuned his design and started selling tables!
